On the Road

This was the year for the Harps and Cains to vacation in the Harps' hometown of Utica, New York, but unavoidable difficulties prevented this. Thus did the Harps decide to join the Cains on their annual trip to the Tampa Bay area to enjoy several Spring Training baseball games and other amusing activities. This is an ancient and honored tradition for the Cains, made especially nice this year by having the Harps along.

Marilyn, in her usual efficient manner, arranged for us to stay at a luxury condominium at Indian Shores, one of the fine Gulf beaches near St. Petersburg. There were certain difficulties encountered in chartering a plane to travel there and so we all decided to motor down in the Cains' fine high-performance automobile. It was an excellent trip, both going to the Tampa Bay area and returning to Marietta.

Here are a couple of pictures of scenic I-75 taken during our travels.

Most of the driving was done by me, but, as you can see, Dick helped.

Dick was an excellent driver and was disconcerted only once when he mistook the fellow shown at the right for a pedestrian or another motorist or something--who knows?.

Here is one of the fine dining establishments at which we enjoyed a gourmet repast while on the road. Our stop here included, of course, the usual visits by all to the restrooms.
