Donna Howard

Donna grew up near Cleveland, Ohio, and began playing trombone in the 3rd grade. She had the same music instructor throughout elementary, middle and high school as he switched to the same schools at the same times she moved up. He was an Ohio State University alumni and had an impact on Donna also graduating from there. To her disappointment she did not make the OSU marching band but got to learn the valve trombone anyway. After college, playing the trombone was put aside for about 25 years until about 5 years ago when she began playing at her church and joined a few bands, Suburban Jazz, East Cobb New Horizons Band, also Memory Lane Jazz Ensemble and now Southern Winds! Jazz music (all types - from big band to smooth jazz ) are one of her favorites to play but also loves to play marches and show tunes.

Donna moved to Atlanta in 1980 and worked at Emory Univerity Hospital for many years as a cardiopulmonary perfusionist and then went back to school to get her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She still practices chiropractic part time and is also a full time real estate investor specializing in short sales, owner financed properties and buying/selling mortgages. She is married to Ernie 22 years and has 2 boys, Gordon, aged 19, who also has a musical background and Andrew, aged 15, who is a baseball player like his dad. She looks forward to getting better at the trombone and also taking up the 'drums' (when she gets some more spare time -haha).
