Day Three

I. We start the day by going back to Camden Yards for a tour of the ballpark. A beautiful day and a beautiful baseball stadium.

Here we are on Eutaw Street and here we are in the Orioles dugout (Dick is the photographer).

Here are Patty, Marilyn, and friends on the Orioles bench.

Here we are with Babe Ruth.

II. Next we move on to the B&O Railroad Museum.

That's Marilyn and me, of course, with a wonderful locomotive. This place was full of incredibly good stuff. To use an overworked word, it is awesome. Certainly one of the highlights of the trip---right up there with the nightly bridge games.

And here is Dick and friends in the cab of one of the many locomotives to be seen in this fine place.

Shorts and a sports shirt have no place here, but with pinstripe overalls and a red bandanna I would look right at home at the firebox of this magnificent locomotive. My granddfather would be proud.

III. Leaving the railroad museum behind (reluctantly), we moved on to the house of Babe Ruth's birth. It took us several hours to see it all, but it was well worth the visit. Upon leaving here, we set out for Fort McHenry.

After starting out, we changed our minds and decided not to visit Fort McHenry but rather to drive aimlessly about Baltimore for a while.

IV. After that, back to our luxurious accomodations for some rest, refreshments, and bridge. Sometime later we set out for dinner. Dick and Patty had met a distinguished food critic on the plane during the flight up from Atlanta, and he told them that during our stay in Baltimore we must dine at McCormick & Schmick's. So we did, and it was excellent. Following our evening repast, we returned "home" for yet more bridge. Another fine day.
